Man Who Attacked Paul Pierce Adds To His Rap Sheet

BOSTON (AP) - One of the men accused of stabbing Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce in a night club a decade ago has been convicted of attempted murder in an unrelated case.

Trevor Watson was convicted in federal court on Thursday of stabbing a Drug Enforcement Administration informant.

Prosecutors say the 44-year-old Watson stabbed the informant 10 times outside a barber shop in February. The man had provided information against Watson in a federal drug trafficking investigation.

Watson was one of three men charged with stabbing Pierce eight times in September 2000. He had faced an attempted murder charge but was convicted of assault and battery. He spent a year in prison.

Watson's lawyer tells The Boston Globe his client is innocent of the attack on the informant.
