Freshman Lawmakers Complete Harvard Class

CAMBRIDGE (AP) - The newest members of the U.S. House of Representatives are completing training at Harvard University on leadership in Congress and the issues that they will face as federal lawmakers.
 
Twenty-four out of 26 new members of Congress attended four days of training ending Friday afternoon.
 
New England elected representatives benefiting from the initiative include Massachusetts' William Keating, Rhode Island's David Cicilline as well as New Hampshire's Charlie Bass and Frank Guinta.
 
Speakers included former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice, U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu and U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Shaun Donovan.
 
The new lawmakers attended sessions on the economy, federal budget, education, energy, foreign policy, communications and navigating the legislative process at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government in Cambridge.
