BOSTON (CBS) — The Massachusetts Avenue bridge connecting Boston and Cambridge was closed for approximately two hours Wednesday evening after a deadly head-on crash.

It happened on the Boston side of the bridge just before 6 p.m.

Police say 58-year-old Cheryl A. Anderson-Young of Beverly was driving a Lexus from Cambridge to Boston when she crossed the center line and hit a taxi cab coming the opposite direction.

The driver was taken to Beth Israel with serious injuries. Her passenger, 79-year-old Christina Anderson of Beverly, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The taxi driver, Ibrahim Nabile, 46, of Malden, was taken to Boston Medical Center with serious injuries.
