MBTA’s Motorcycle Unit Suspended

By Joe Shortsleeve, WBZ-TV

BOSTON (CBS) — The MBTA police tells WBZ-TV all eight officers on the T’s motorcycle unit will be suspended for one day without pay.

This follows an I-Team report that officers were taking money directly from funeral home operators in return for police escorts.

Chief Paul McMillan tells Joe Shortsleeve that MBTA officers are no longer ever allowed to perform funeral escorts with T equipment.

They should be fired. They lack any semblance of integrity. They are supposed to serve and protect the public.

Terminate them and don’t even think twice about it. What is going on in Massachusetts with all this corruption? I shouldn’t be forced to move to New Hampshire to escape all of this……

It is only now that anyone is beginning to notice the Funeral Escort Scam? It’s not only the T Police. What is surprising is that the Local Police havn’t stepped on the T cops Long ago.The Mafia wouldn’t allow this for a minute.

I hope the MA Ethics Commission is investigating this. Did they pay for the gas and wear and tear on a state vehicle. They should clearly be fired.
