Paving Begins On Bourne Bridge; Traffic Expected
BOURNE (AP) -- Paving on the Bourne Bridge spanning the Cape Code Canal is scheduled to begin Monday.
The New England District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said work on the bridge is slated to run from Monday to Wednesday and includes desk repairs and bridge paving.
Work also includes removal of existing waterproofing and paving to the bridge deck.
Officials warn motorists to expect delays as traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
Officials say work may take longer if workers are faced with bad weather, but work is expected to be completed by Thanksgiving.
