BOSTON (CBS) -  Here's a list of Boston area Veterans Day events for Thursday, November 11, 2010.

For additional information on any event, call the city or town hosting the event. Ask for the "veterans' services" office at the city or town hall.

Amesbury

Amesbury Veterans' Day Parade 2010 will be hosted by American Legion Post 187 and held on Veterans' Day, Thursday November 11th. All who wish to march in the parade should muster in front of Amesbury Fire Station at 9:30 AM. The parade procession begins at 10:00 AM, will proceed down Main Street, and conclude at the Doughboy Memorial in front of Amesbury Middle School. The keynote speaker will be Reverend Don Roberts of All Saints Church, with brief remarks from Mayor Thatcher Kezer III, and Veteran Agent Kristen LaRue. Also included within the ceremony is a roll call honoring deceased veterans followed by a traditional gun salute. All veterans are encouraged to march, with or without uniform. Andover

There will be three ceremonies followed by a luncheon at the Masonic Temple (located at 7 High Street, Andover) at 1:00 PM. The first ceremony will be at West Parish Cemetery at 10 AM, second will be at the Spring Grove Cemetery at 11:00 AM, and finally at the Ballardvale Green at 12:00 PM. At Ballardvale Green we will present the Andover book Heroes Among Us, Book Two. Book Two of the oral history project targets WWII veterans who served in the European Theater, to include Italy and North Africa.

Ashland

Ashland will be holding a Veterans' Day luncheon on Monday, November 8 at 12:00 noon at the Community Center on West Union Street.

Attleboro

There will be a Veterans' Day ceremony at 11 AM at South Attleboro Veterans' Memorial Park (on Gardner Avenue, Attleboro). All are welcome.

Bedford

Hanscom Air Force Base and the Bedford VA are hosting a 5K and 10k Fun Run/Walk on Thursday, November 11 beginning at 9:00 AM on campus at the Bedford VA. The race route is wheelchair and stroller accessible. The event is open to all veterans and the community and the registration fee will be used to support packages to the troops overseas. There will be food (BBQ), music, and fun after the race. To register go to http://site.afafunrun.com/.

Beverly

The City of Beverly will hold its Veterans' Day ceremony on November 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Veterans' Memorial at Odell Park on Rantoul Street in front of the Beverly Post Office. A collation will take place at the American Legion Post 331.

Boston

The Massachusetts Department of Veterans' Services will hold its annual Veterans' Day Ceremony at the State House Memorial Hall on Thursday, November 11, 2010 beginning at 10:00 AM. Lt. Governor Timothy Murray is the Keynote Speaker and General Joseph F. Dunford, the Asst. Commandant of the Marine Corps, Secretary Tom Kelley, the Navy Band Northeast, and Gold Star Families are featured guests. This event is free and open to the public.

On Thursday, November 11th the City of Boston parade will commence at 12:00-noon at the corner of Charles Street and Beacon Street. The parade will proceed up Boylston Street and turn left onto Tremont Street and end at City Hall Plaza.

Brockton

Veterans Day Parade will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2010. We will form up at the Brockton Fairgrounds at 9:00 AM at the Belmont Street entrance and the parade will start at 10:00 AM. The parade route will proceed down Belmont Street and will then take a left onto Main Street. There will be a brief pause on Main Street at School Street, for the Brockton Fire Fighters Pipe & Drum Band Strand Theater Tribute. It will then proceed down Main Street and take a left on Legion Parkway for a brief ceremony at the Monument to Honor All Veterans. Cambridge

The Cambridge Veterans' Organization (CVO), in conjunction with the City's Department of Veterans' Services will hold their annual Veterans' Day Observance at 11:00 A.M on Thursday, November 11, 2010. The observance will be held at the Veterans' World War I Monument located adjacent to the main gate of the Cambridge Cemetery, 76 Coolidge Avenue, Cambridge. There will be speeches, music, and a wreath-laying service. A collation will follow at the American Legion Marsh Post #442 located at 1 Gerry's Landing. (617) 576-2646. Canton

Veterans' Day Breakfast at the Canton Legion Post # 24 (950 R Washington Street, Canton). Breakfast will be served from 7:00 till 11:00 AM and tickets cost $5.00 per person. There will be a PowerPoint presentation of Canton's 77 Fallen Heroes.

Chelsea

Chelsea will be having their Veterans' Day ceremony on November 11th from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Chelsea Senior Center (10 Riley Way, Chelsea).

The Chelsea Soldiers' Home will honor residents and patients at the Veterans Day Ceremony and Luncheon on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 10:30-11:30 AM in the Martin Auditorium (91 Crest Avenue, Chelsea). Senator Scott Brown will speak.

Dudley/Webster

Sixth annual Veterans' Day Parade. Before the parade there will be a brief ceremony to honor World War II veterans beginning promptly at 9:45 AM at the Memorial Monument located at the Webster Lake entryway off Thompson Road. All marching veterans meet at the St. Louis School parking area located next to the gymnasium at the bottom of the entryway at 10:15 AM. Transportation by bus will leave at approximately 10:30 AM and proceed to the Municipal Complex in Dudley. Upon arrival we will assemble at the Veterans' Court of Honor. Ceremonies will commence promptly at 11:00 AM and conclude at 12:45 PM. All military veterans who want to march in the parade should be at the Municipal Complex by 10:45 AM.

Medford

The Annual Veterans' Keynote Speakers Program in honor of Veterans' Day pairs veterans with Medford High School classes to discuss his/her experience in the Armed Forces. This year's program will take place on Monday, November 8 between the hours of 7:55 AM and 2:15 PM at Medford High School (489 Winthrop Street, Medford).

Melrose

There will be short ceremony at various veterans' memorials around Melrose in the morning and a program for the elderly in the afternoon.

9:30 AM, at the WWII / Korean War Memorial (near 585 Main Street) with guest speaker MSGT (Ret.) James Kelley, USAF

10:00 AM, at the Vietnam Memorial (across from 884 Main Street at Ell Pond) with guest speaker Air Force Vietnam veteran, Alderman Bill Forbes

11:00 AM, at the WWI Memorial (Lynn Fells Parkway across from the Middle School) with guest speaker Army WWII Veteran, the Honorable James E. Milano

3:00 PM, at the Epoch Senior Living Center (884 Main Street) a program for the elderly with guest speakers AmVets Post 21 Commander, David McCall and VSO, Natalee Webb

Middleboro

The Oak Point Veterans' Association will be holding its annual American Flag Retirement Ceremony on Saturday, November 6 at 10:00 AM in their community center in East Middleboro. Flags that need to be retired can be dropped off in the box outside the Veterans' Services Office on the third floor of the Eastern Bank Building in the Four Corners section of downtown Middleboro.

The annual Veterans' Day Church Service will be held at the Saturday, November 13, 4:00 PM Mass at Saint Martha's and Mary's Church on Bedford Street in Lakeville. Veterans and their families should arrive no later than 3:45 PM at the church.

The 11th annual Veterans' Day breakfast will be held on Wednesday, November 10 at 9 AM at the Middleboro VFW Post 2188 on Station Street. This breakfast is for Middleboro veterans and they will be able to bring one guest per veteran. To sign up for the breakfast call either Bob Burke (508-415-8501); Don Triner (508-397-7567); or Paul Provencher (508-958-3557). There are only 150 seats available for this event.

The Veterans' Day Parade will form up on Thursday, November 11 at 9:30 AM in the Middleboro Town Hall parking lot under the guidance of Bob Lessard and his crew. It will step off promptly at 10 AM and proceed along the standard Veterans' Day parade route. There will be vehicles available for the veterans and the members of the auxiliary who need that assistance. The annual Veterans' Day Ceremony in the Middleborough Veterans' Memorial Park will take place upon the completion of the parade.

Newburyport

Newburyport will hold its annual Veterans' Day Parade. Muster at CVS parking lot on Pond Street at 10:15 AM, step off at 10:45 AM. A program will be held at 11:00 AM on City Hall steps - Brown Square. Then a march to the Veterans' Cemetery via State Street. Additionally, at the Newburyport Library on Wednesday evening, November 10, 2010, from 7:00-9:00 PM two presentations will take place. Robert Brun a local artist will present his military and aviation art, and John Katsaros a local author will speak on his book Code Burgundy: The Long Escape. On Friday, November 11, from 10:00 AM till 2:00 PM, there will be an open discussion group at the Newburyport Library focusing on the theme of military/wartime experiences. Discussion topics will be chosen by those attending, and Kevin Hunt will be the moderator.

North Attleboro

There will be a ceremony to honor living veterans at 11:00 AM at Barrow's Park (on Route 1A, beside the police station). Various speakers and veterans' organizations will be present. All are welcome.

Norwood

At 8:00 AM on Thursday, November 11, there will be a Veterans' Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Church (547 Washington Street, Norwood). At 10:00 AM the parade begins traveling along on Washington Street (from the Balch School to Town Common). There will be ceremonies at the Town Common beginning at 11:00 AM.

Rehoboth

There will be a flag changing ceremony at the American Legion Cenotaph on the corner of Route 44 (Winthrop Street) and Danforth Street at 11:00 AM. A lunch open to all veterans will be held at the Council on Aging (56 Bay State Road, Rehoboth) sponsored by TRIAD and the Senior Center. All in attendance will be honored with a special challenge coin. The lunch is for Rehoboth veterans and invited guests only. Shrewsbury

The Sixth Annual Veterans' Memorial 5K Road Race and Walk will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2010, at Veterans Inc.'s Independence Hall (59 South Street, Shrewsbury). Registration opens at 10:00 AM. There will be a Salute to Veterans at 12:40 PM and the race starts at 1:00 PM. All proceeds will go toward supporting programs for homeless veterans. Race day registration is $20 and veterans/active duty/ROTC is $10. A short children's race will also take place prior to the start of race. Entry fee is a can or box of food for the Feed-a-Vet Food Bank. Prizes will be awarded in male and female age divisions.

Spencer

Area veterans are invited to a breakfast at 9:00 AM on Monday, November 8 at Lake Street School in honor of Veterans' Day. The event is open to all veterans from the area and includes a program by school children along with a catered breakfast. Veterans are asked to wear uniforms or insignia indicating which branch of the military they served with. Those interested in attending should RSVP by calling the school at 508-885-8517.

Westford

Westford will celebrate Veterans' Day on Thursday, November 11 at 11:00 AM (the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month) with a parade to the Town Common by our veterans, honor guards, and honored guests. Parade participants to assemble at 10:30 behind the Fletcher Library in the parking lot. A short ceremonial program will be held in the Common after the parade. In case of rain, the program will be held at the center fire station instead of on the Common.

Woburn

The United Veterans Council and the City of Woburn are hosting multiple events to honor Veterans' Day. A parade on Thursday, November 11th will begin at 10:00 AM (muster at 9:40) at Cross Street and march to Woburn Common for ceremonies. The Veterans' Program at the Senior Center (on School Street) will be held on Thursday, November 4th at 12:30 PM. This year's church services will be celebrated at the North Congregational Church (on Main Street, North Woburn) on Sunday, November 14 at 10:00 AM followed by a Veterans' Breakfast at the Woburn Moose Hall (on Federal Street).
