Boston Doctor Details New Cancer Treatment Studies
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CBS) - New cancer research is being introduced this week at the American Society for Radiation Oncology's meeting that could prove promising for patients.
The research includes findings that show how adding radiation to hormone therapy for prostate cancer treatment will increase survival chances.
The study finds substantially improved chances of survival for patients compare to those who only receive hormone therapy.
New research also finds that aspirin use is associated with lower risk of cancer death for men with prostate cancer.
Mass. General Hospital's Dr. Anthony Zeitman, president of the group, spoke with WBZ News Radio's Laurie Kirby about the findings.
