NFL Cracks Down On Hard Hits

BOSTON (CBS) - The NFL is cracking down on dangerous play in the wake of several devastating hits on the gridiron.

One of them came from NewEngland Patriots safety Brandon Meriweather, who clobbered Baltimore Ravens tight end Todd Heap with a helmet-to-helmet hit last Sunday.

Meriweather apologized, but was fined $50,000.

Nowinski is working with the Boston University School of Medicine to better protect against sports-related head injuries.
