GOP's Baker wins support from Democrat Reilly
Former Massachusetts Attorney General Thomas Reilly says he plans to cross party lines and vote for Republican Charles Baker.
At a news conference Thursday in front of the Statehouse, Reilly joined current and former Harvard Pilgrim Health Care employees. They all rebutted ads Patrick is running that criticize Baker's leadership of the state's No. 2 health insurer. Reilly approved a 1990s deal putting the company into receivership, and he says Baker turned it around without government money and through his own hard work. He says Baker can do the same for the state.
Reilly lost the 2006 Democratic gubernatorial primary to Patrick and has largely avoided politics since. He says he may not agree with all of Baker's positions, but Baker will create jobs.
