Norwood crash shuts down Route 95

A two-vehicle crash forced state police to shut down Interstate 95 in Norwood briefly just before the start of rush hour early Friday morning.Click here for WBZ Traffic on the Threes.

A taxi and a commercial van crashed in the northbound lanes around 4:30 a.m. at the Dedham Street overpass.

It’s not clear yet what caused the accident.  A MedFlight rescue helicopter was called in to evacuate at least one person.

It took more than an hour to move the van and cab away.

Traffic was backed up for as much as six miles.
