The Roman Catholic Diocese of Fall River has placed the director of a diocesan high school’s campus ministry program on paid leave pending an investigation into allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct with a female student 16 years ago.
The diocese said 53-year-old Jean Revil was placed on leave Thursday after a former student at Bishop Stang High School in Dartmouth went to church officials with the allegation.
The diocese said the district attorney’s office has been notified.
Revil said in a statement to The Standard-Times of New Bedford that she is “stunned” and denies the accusations. Revil has worked at the school for more than 30 years.
The diocese said the alleged victim claimed the incidents took place at the school in 1994.
