Missing VT grandmother's remains may have been found

Pat O'Hagan (WBZ-TV)

Vermont State Police investigators say they're awaiting the results of an autopsy before they will be able to say for certain if a body found in Wheelock is that of a 78-year-old grandmother who has been missing for three weeks.

State police say bird hunters found the remains Sunday. The remains had the same build as Pat O'Hagan, who was abducted from her Sheffield home Sept. 11. Investigators suspect the death was caused by foul play.

State Police Major Ed Ledo said a final identification of the body would probably be made Tuesday.

The body was found about 10 miles from O'Hagan's home. it was found in an area several hundred feet off Horn Road.

O'Hagan was originally from Chelmsford, Mass. She moved to Vermont several years ago.
