Red Sox and Yanks wash out, play two today

The rain became too much and the Red Sox and Yankees will play two today at Fenway Park in this final weekend of th regular season. The Red Sox are out of the playoff picture but the Yankees are still battling Tampa Bay.  One will be the division champ and host an opening round playoff series while the other would be the wild card and open on the road.

Tim Wakefield will now start the first game for the Red Sox, which starts at 4:10, while Daisake Matsuzaka will pitch game 2, slated to start at 9:05.  Tickets for last night's game will only be good for the second game.  Clay Buchholtz was scheduled to pitch today but was scratched with a stiff back.

The ceremony to honor Mike Lowell will be held before the start of game 1.
