The Middlesex district attorney’s office identified the man who was killed as Elhaji Malick Ndiaye, 18, of Waltham. The other victim’s identity and condition were not immediately released. There have been no arrests.

The men were stabbed at about 4:30 a.m. in a parking lot outside a dormitory. Campus officials say neither was a student at the school.

Ndiaye’s father said he was “very sad” over the death of his only son.

The teen had dropped out of high school and fallen in with the wrong crowd, Mamadou Ndiaye said.

“He was quiet and respectful at home, but I did not know him outside the house,” the father said.

Mamadou Ndiaye said he came to the U.S. from Senegal about 15 years ago and became a citizen. His son and other family members joined him about five years ago.

He said his son told him Thursday night he was going to a party, and he learned of the stabbing when a friend came to the family home at 5 a.m. Friday.

Regis President Mary Jane England canceled Friday classes and brought in crisis counselors.

Regis is a Roman Catholic school with about 1,500 students in suburban Weston. Founded in 1927 as a women’s college, it started admitting men in 2007.
