Sen. Brown: Greatest terror threat is Iran

Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown says Iran - and the prospect it could get nuclear weapons - is now the world's greatest security threat.

Brown spoke Saturday, the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks, at the annual meeting of the New England Associated Press News Executives Association. The Republican senator, who serves on the Armed Forces and Homeland Security committees, recently returned from a trip to Jordan and Israel. He says their top security concern is Iran and its potential nuclear capabilities.

He also said extremist groups are increasingly trying to recruit U.S. citizens, and he's troubled by Americans who would actually accept and use their status as U.S. citizens to try to do harm. Earlier in the day, Brown attended a wreath-laying in Boston for the victims of 9/11.
