The day belongs to Day at the Deutsche Bank

Jason Day capped off an exciting day at the Deutsche Bank Championship with a routine birdie to take the lead going into the final round on Labor Day.
Day shot a 5-under 66 to tie the 54-hole record at the TPC Boston and take a one-shot lead over Brandt Snedeker, who made a mess of the par-5 18th hole until chipping in for par. That gave Snedeker a 67, and at least kept him in the final group.
Just like so many other times at this tournament, the final round could be up for grabs - and so could the No. 1 ranking.
Tiger Woods could only manage a 69 in blustery conditions and was 10 shots out of the lead. That set the stage for either Steve Stricker or Phil Mickelson to end his more than five years atop the ranking.
