A Charlestown man has been charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly making menacing remarks at town hall, including threats to “kill someone.”
Police say 41-year-old Rollin Ladd became upset last month when denied a permit to install pipe work and hook a boiler up to a bio-furnace.
According to the police report, the outburst was witnessed by several town hall employees.
Ladd told The Sun of Westerly that he became angry because he was counting on the furnace to heat his home. He says he stomped his feet but never made any threats.
He has since received a permit. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 9.
