Ready for a weekend shopping spree?
Massachusetts shoppers will get a break from the sales tax this weekend.
The state is suspending the 6.25% sales tax on consumer items under $2500 for the weekend of August 14 - 15. Exceptions include cars, motorboats, meals, telecommunications services, gas, electricity and cigarettes.
A number of retailers will also be offering sales and discounts to attract more customers. Some malls will also offer extended hours.
