Marshfield soldier hit by IED

Family and friends of a Marshfield soldier say she is recovering after being injured by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.

Relatives say Breinne Travers, a sergeant in the Massachusetts National Guard, was injured Tuesday when the vehicle she was driving was hit by an improvised explosive device.

Travers was on her second tour of duty in Afghanistan. She's being treated the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, where she is reported in stable condition.

Travers is a 1998 graduate of Norton High and a 2009 graduate of Massosoit Community College.
