3 Somerville officers stabbed, suspect shot dead

WBZ-AM

A woman was killed by police and three officers suffered knife wounds in a domestic dispute in Somerville.

Police went to a home on Sycamore Terrace at about 6:30 a.m. Friday after a man called to say his girlfriend lunged at him with a knife and set his clothes on fire.

Authorities say when officers arrived, 33-year-old Carol Lynn Kingsley went after them with a knife. One shot was fired, killing Kingsley.

The injured officers were treated for stab wounds to the hands, arms, shoulders and back and released from a hospital.

Mayor Joseph Curtatone identified the officers as Jose Ramirez, Marc DiFava and Dante DiFronzo. He says they acted as they were trained.

Authorities say police had responded to the same home at about 3 a.m. after a neighbor reported shouting.
