Update: Lynnfield twins drown in pool

911genericxlcbs Update: Lynnfield twins drown in pool

Authorities say twin toddler girls are dead after they drowned in the family swimming pool in Massachusetts.

Essex District Attorney spokeswoman Carrie Kimball Monahan said police were called to the home in Lynnfield, about 17 miles north of Boston, at about 10:20 a.m. Saturday after a report of “babies in the pool.” Monahan said firefighters gave CPR to 2-year-old Angelina and Veronica Andreottola before they were taken to Union Hospital in Lynn, where they were pronounced dead.

She said the girl’s mother, Crystal Andreottola, was home at the time of the accident. Monahan said the girls may have somehow opened a remote pool cover, but authorities were still investigating what happened. She said no foul play was suspected and no charges would be brought.

I live in the next city and I was told that someone that knows them that the grandmother was watching them out by the pool but the phone rang and she went inside and the girls were able to reach the remote pool cover button, but I don’t know how much of that is true. It’s strange that nothing came out of reviewing the tapes on the security cameras. Something doesn’t seem right.

here’s my honest opinion, I feel and I’m sure that everyone probably reacted like this, we don’t even know this family but how you can’t think about the horror, you wake up never knowing that 2 of your 3 kids will be gone by the early morning? I saw a post about how big the house is and they secured it to keep them safe, however, with that said, I think freedom and running free around that house was normal for these girls, I think anyway, the mom had another kid 9 months old, that’s more than a lot of responsibility. However cruel this may sound and I wish peace for the parents, this accident should NEVER have happened. To much time to open a pool cover, fall in, drown, that mom was preoccupied doing something else and thought the kids were safe, I wonder why those video tapes didn’t show anything and how long those kids showed that they were in that pool or if they can even tell. Again, accidents happen, but one this tragic should never have happened, there were to many preventions in place to allow the mom to find out where they were if after a even 5 minutes went by and the house seemed quiet and they were no where around.
