Somerville still soggy

Somerville's Public Safety Complex is closed, following Saturday's flash flooding that caused extensive damage inside the building.

The Police and Fire Station near Union Square was invaded by several feet of water mixed with sewage during the heavy downpours. There was also extensive damage to furniture, vehicles and equipment.

Officials stress that public safety is not being compromised while the building is closed. A mobile 911 center is handling calls.
