Divers searching for Worcester man, 27

More than a dozen divers are searching the waters of Mill Pond in Westborough for a 27-year-old Worcester man presumed to have drowned Sunday evening.

Carlos Avalos is one of three men whose canoe capsized around 7 p.m. about 150 feet from shore. One man who used a cooler to stay afloat made it to shore. Another, who held on to the canoe, was rescued by firefighters.

A search was called off after two hours, and resumed Monday morning at daybreak.
