Bruins Get Seguin

[photogallerylink id=29756 align=right]The Edmonton Oilers have selected forward Taylor Hall with the No. 1 pick in the NHL draft.

The league-worst Oilers chose Hall over fellow OHL forward Tyler Seguin on Friday, making the toughest call at the top of a draft in several years.

The Boston Bruins eagerly grabbed Seguin moments later with the No. 2 pick.

Most NHL scouts and executives couldn’t choose a favorite between Hall, a physical left wing from the Windsor Spitfires, and Seguin, a smooth-skating center from the Plymouth Whalers. Both players expect to be on NHL rosters this fall.

Florida has the third pick, followed by Columbus.

Hall is the fourth straight OHL player chosen with the No. 1 pick, following Patrick Kane, Steven Stamkos, and John Tavares.

I love it…I watched earlier last weekend every game from last season and this kid is sick…I believe that the Horton trade was the first step, Seguin is the second, and we need to either trade Thomas or sign a free agent. I would like to see Thomas as our back up I know he has the skill set to play elsewhere however you need two solid goalies for the regular season and you cant find a better backup. Now if a trade comes up with a puck moving blue liner and a draft pick Chiarelli would be an idiot not to move him maybe for a guy like Kurtis Foster from the Lightning a lot of people don’t know him but he would be worth it with some depth, good offensive skills, veteran and cap space to go get a free agent. Now with that being said about Thomas possibly free agents to go after would have to be a 1 or 2 year deal I dont feel like we can lock someone up longterm but you never know we could my main possibilities for the B’s aren’t exactly household names guys like marek svatos, alex ponikarovsky, alex tanguay, or colby armstrong. Any of those for guys would help our club and give claude julien a lot of leg room to work with some different lines and create a well oiled machine to move into the playoffs.
Now this as of right now is our lineup:
    C-Marc Savard-Patrice Bergeron-David Krejci-Vlad Sobotka or Greg Cambell
    LW-Tyler Seguin-Marco Sturm-Milan Lucic-Danny Paille
RW-Nathan Horton-Michael Ryder-Mark Recchi- Blake Wheeler or Shawn Thornton because I believe Wheeler will be gone.
    D-Zdeno Chara-Johnny Boychuk-Mark Stuart-Dennis Seidenberg-Andrew Ference-Matt Hunwick
    G-Tuuka Rask and Timmy Thomas
ring! ring! ring! ring!…….who is it?…….Lord Stanley
